224......days until I get married! I can't believe it. Strange strange strange. Sorry for the lack for new weblog postings for the past year. Go ahead...get it out of your systems: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Rebecca!" I must say that life is ridiculously busy. Between working full time, selling a house, planning a wedding, and sleeping, there is not much free time! And it just makes time fly by quicker! I really have been enjoying my life with the Tatu's. Alicia and Mike are so generous to let me live in their basement and I also get to partake in about 4-5 meals with them a week. Last night Alicia let me throw some of my own laundry in with hers. Kindness and compassion. It is like living back home with my own mother. Wedding preparations are in full swing. I kept saying after Alicia's and Carrie's and Jennifer's weddings that I would not be doing anything craftsy, but instead would be hiring someone to do all of the hard work and planning. I never wanted the stress. HOWEVER, now that I am in their shoes, I realize why they were so hands-on with their planning. Once you get a vision of how you want your whole wedding to go, it just makes more sense to do it yourself. So that is what I am doing. Handmade save-the-dates, wedding invitations, centerpieces, decorations...blah! it is very stressful and time consuming, but Jen has been helping out a lot, and it is all coming together. I hope you all know that I would love for you to be able to make the journey to share in our wedding ceremony, but also know that I do not expect it of you. We know that it is expensive and also a long trip, so do not feel like we will hold it against you. We will not! However, if you are able to make it, HURRAH! that would be amazing! I must warn you that there has been some threats of speedos being worn, which I have fervently outlawed, so that may make it a gross trip, but otherwise it will be great!!! The great thing about Anna Maria Island is that there are a lot of house/condo rentals that you can share with other families, so it cuts your cost. just google it. I bet you can find a great deal! If you can't make the trip, don't worry! you can still celebrate with us back in Grand Rapids on December 13! this will also be a unique time, so we hope to see you there! On a different note, Alicia and I have decided to run a 5K this spring, so we are (suppose to be) in training for that. It is sometimes hard to correlate our schedules for that, but now that the weather is beautiful, it has been a lot of fun when we get to run outside! I hope everyone is well! Hug Hug. |
